General overview
Macdio ("the App") is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. For platform-specific details, please use the links above. Below is our general privacy policy that applies across all platforms.
Data collection
Macdio does not collect any personal information. All your data, including favorite stations, saved tracks, recordings, and preferences, stays on your device and syncs only through your personal iCloud account.
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We have no way to identify you or access your usage data.
Third-party services
Macdio connects to the following external services solely to provide its core functionality:
- Radio Browser API to browse and search radio stations from around the world. No personal data is sent with these requests.
- LRCLIB to fetch synchronized song lyrics for currently playing tracks. No personal data is sent.
- iTunes Search API to fetch album artwork and track metadata. No personal data is sent.
- Logo.dev supplies the logos of radio stations that do not provide one themselves. Only the station's web domain is sent, no personal data.
These services receive only the minimum information needed to fulfill their purpose, such as a song title for lyric lookup. No user identifiers, device IDs, or personal data are transmitted.
iCloud sync
If you use iCloud sync, your favorites, saved stations, and settings are stored in your private iCloud container. This data is managed entirely by Apple's iCloud infrastructure and is not accessible to us in any way.
For Apple's privacy practices regarding iCloud, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Audio & recordings
Any audio recordings you make through Macdio are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or access your recordings in any way.
Children's privacy
Macdio does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data at all, the App is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
