Macdio for Apple TV is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. This privacy policy explains how the tvOS version of the App handles your information.
Data collection
Macdio does not collect any personal information. All your data syncs only through your personal iCloud account.
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Usage data (Privacy Nutrition Label)
Macdio collects Other Usage Data for App Functionality. This refers to your listening history, which stations you played, for how long, and on which device.
This data is:
- Not linked to your identity
- Not used for tracking
- Stored only in your private iCloud container
- Used solely to display your personal listening statistics across devices
tvOS specifics
Macdio on Apple TV does not support recording. The app is streaming-only and does not store any audio files on your device. Top Shelf data is processed locally to display your recently played stations.
Third-party services
Macdio connects to the following services for core functionality:
- Radio Browser API to browse stations. No personal data is sent.
- LRCLIB to fetch lyrics. No personal data is sent.
- iTunes Search API to fetch artwork. No personal data is sent.
- Logo.dev supplies the logos of radio stations that do not provide one themselves. Only the station's web domain is sent, no personal data.
iCloud sync
Your favorites, listening history, and settings sync via your private iCloud container managed by Apple.
